Here are the highest priced clothing items sold in the 90 days in the vintage Barbie category on eBay.
The highest priced item was this pink version of Barbie’s 1965 Midnight Blue, called Midnight Pink. It was an exclusive version sold in Japan and Europe. It was listed for $3,495 and sold for a “best offer”.
This Japanese exclusive version of Enchanted Evening – in rose pink instead of soft pink, Was listed for $1,780 and also sold to a “best offer”. Enchanted Evening was made in 1960 – 1963.
Next it this very rare version of Barbie’s 1967 Best Bow. There were several different fabrics used in these dresses. Most of them are the same as previous Barbie and friends clothing, leading collectors to guess that Mattel was using left over material to make these. If that is the case, evidently they did not have much of this fabric, from Outdoor Art Show left, because the dress with this fabric is very rare. So rare that this version sold for $1,295.
Kitty Kapers was only made in 1972 and is very hard to find. This NRFB (Never Removed From Box) version sold for $1,250.
Here Comes The Bride #1665 (1966-1967), never removed from box, received 19 bids and sold for $1,190.
Commuter Set was part of Barbie’s very first wardrovbe and was only made in 1959 and 1960. This NRFB version received three bids and sold for $1,193.88.
This long white evening dress and satin lined coat, a 1967 Japanese exclusive Barbie ensemble, was next. It received 18 bids and sold for $901.76.
This NRFB Barbie Open Road #985 (1961-1962) sold for $875.
The dress, coat, hat and gloves from Easter Parade #971 (1959), one of the three outfits that were made only in 1959 received 39 bids and sold for $820.05.
This NRFB Cruise Stripes (from 1959-1962) sold for $799.95.
